The best way to get a feel for what it is like to be at UT and what our university and city have to offer is to come for a tour. If you are traveling from out of state, be sure to take your time and explore not only the campus but downtown Knoxville, located only a few minutes away from UT. If you are planning on spending the night, there are several local hotels nearby, offering you the best possible rates.
We offer individual campus tours, school group tours, and self-guided tours. Tours are typically offered four times per day Monday through Friday and once on select Saturdays.
Weekday tours start at the UT Visitors Center at 2712 Neyland Drive, Knoxville, TN, 37996.
Saturday tours begin at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 320 Student Services Building, Knoxville, TN 37996 (on Circle Park Drive, behind the Torchbearer statue).
If you have any questions about tours, our team is here to help: call us at 865-946-TOUR (8687) or e-mail us at email@example.com.
Your Campus Visit Experience:
Attend a 30 min. information session and learn about the application process, life in Knoxville, and the campus community. An admissions staff member will be available before and after each campus tour for personal questions.
Continue with a one-and-a-half-hour bus and walking tour (weekdays) or walking tour only (weekends), led by one of our student Ambassadors. You will get a great overview of campus, academic, and student life – all presented to you from a student’s perspective. Highlights of the tour will include stops in our student recreation center, a residence hall, and our main library.
Academic Appointment (Optional)
Once you register for your campus tour, you can also request additional academic appointments to enhance your day on campus. These custom appointments are only available during weekdays, September through April of each academic year and require a two weeks’ notice. The academic appointment could include an advising appointment, college tour, faculty meeting, and more. Just follow the link in your regular tour confirmation email to complete your academic appointment request.
Good to know:
If you need special accommodations during the campus tour, please make a note in the comments section of your online reservation.
School excuses are provided by request on-site only, at the completion of the guided campus tour, so be sure to ask for them on the day of your visit. We do not provide school excuses for self-guided tours.
