Majors & Minors
UT offers over 105 programs of study for undergraduate students in more than ten colleges and schools. Below is a list of majors and minors with links to departmental web sites where you can read about course offerings, faculty, and programs. If your interests are broad, you may want to consider one of UT's interdisciplinary programs offered by the College of Arts & Sciences (in the list below, these programs are indicated with an asterisk).
Descriptions of many academic programs are also available in PDF format.
The 2008-09 Undergraduate Catalog includes a complete listing of all academic programs and courses offered by the University. You may also access catalogs for previous academic years from the University Libraries' Digital Library Center.
The University of Tennessee also encourages undergraduates to become involved in original and innovative study under the direction of a faculty member. The Office of Research sponsors UGResearch@UT, a program that allows you to conduct research in your field with an eminent scholar. You may find yourself publishing your research or presenting it at a professional meeting, creating an original work of art, or submitting an original project to the annual Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement.
