Articulation Agreements and the Tennessee Transfer Pathways Program
The University of Tennessee has transfer articulation agreements with some Tennessee community colleges, leading to admission with junior standing in particular majors at UT. These transfer programs lead to the awarding of the associate degree by the specified community college and the baccalaureate degree by UT, provided that the student successfully completes all the courses required in a particular program and meets the grade point average requirements for that agreement. All other academic regulations of the degree-granting institutions must also be satisfied.
Beginning Fall 2011, applicants wishing to transfer from a Tennessee Community College will enroll in the Tennessee Transfer Pathways program at their community college. Community college students who are currently participating in an Articulation Agreement with UT Knoxville will be able to complete that transfer agreement.
The Complete College Tennessee Act of 2010 recognizes the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as the state's flagship public university. That law further supports UT's competitive admission process for transfer students and admission is thereby not guaranteed for applicants who have completed the TN Transfer Pathway. A list of UT Knoxville degree programs available through the TN Transfer Pathways program may be found here.
Details for current articulation students and new TN Transfer Pathways students concerning specific programs and requirements are available from the U T Knoxville Office of Undergraduate Admissions or from the specified community college.
The following colleges currently have articulation agreements with UT Knoxville. The new TN Transfer Pathways will provide similar opportunities for students at all TN community colleges.
» What about transfer credits?
College transcripts are evaluated after a transfer student is admitted to UT. Upon completion of evaluation, the student will receive an online report of the evaluation detailing transfer credit received.
