Applying for Readmission
First, you'll need to determine what sort of readmission applicant you are. Did you leave UT in good academic standing? Did you leave while on academic review? Or did you leave because you were academically dismissed from UT? Read on.
Former Students in Good Standing
Did you attend the University of Tennessee for at least one semester and leave in good academic standing? If so, you will be automatically re-admitted upon receipt of your application. If you have attended another institution, please have a copy of your transcript mailed directly to UT so that transfer credit of coursework completed may be awarded. However, processing of your application will not be held while we wait for your transcripts to arrive.
Step 1: Obtain an application for Readmission. Readmission applicants may not apply online. Your options are as follows:
Step 2: No fee is required. Complete and return the application to:

Step 3: If you have taken any college course work since leaving UT, please have each institution you attended send an official transcript. However, processing of your application will not be held for the transcripts to arrive.
Step 4: Wait 2-3 weeks for an admissions decision to be made. If it is close to the beginning of the semester in which you plan to enroll, you may go through "walk-through" admissions by coming to the office, completing an application, and waiting while an admissions counselor processes your application on site.
Former Students on Academic Review
Did you leave UT while on Academic Review, but without being Academically Dismissed? If so, you will be automatically re-admitted upon receipt of your application. Former Students Academically Dismissed
Were you Academically Dismissed from UT? If so, you should should submit an application, along with supporting documentation as to evidence of academic or situational changes that were relevant to academic performance. Applications received from students in this category are reviewed individually for a re-admission decision. Please note that re-admission is not guaranteed.
Step 1: Obtain an application for Readmission. Download the application or email us to request a printed copy for delivery by mail.
Step 2: No application fee is required. The deadline for application is earlier than the Readmission deadline for students who left in Good Standing. This a firm deadline. Complete and return the application to:
