Readmission Applicants

Readmission Applicants

A readmission applicant is a student who has previously been enrolled at UT Knoxville as a degree-seeking student but has had a break in his or her enrollment or has graduated.

If you fit that description, you'll need to determine what sort of readmission applicant you are. Did you leave UT in good academic standing? Did you leave while on academic probation? Or did you leave because you were academically dismissed from UT?

Once you've determined your readmission status, please complete the four-step application process!

Former Students in Good Standing

Did you attend the University of Tennessee for at least one semester and leave in good academic standing? If so, you will be automatically readmitted upon receipt of your application.

If you have attended another institution, please have a copy of your transcript mailed directly to UT so that transfer credit of coursework completed may be awarded.

Former Students on Academic Probation

Did you leave UT while on academic probation, but without being academically dismissed? If so, you will be automatically readmitted upon receipt of your application.

If you have attended another institution, you must have a copy of your transcript mailed directly to UT so that transfer credit of coursework completed may be awarded.

Former Students Academically Dismissed

Were you academically dismissed from UT? If so, you must submit an application, along with supporting documentation as to evidence of academic or situational changes that were relevant to academic performance. Applications received from students in this category are reviewed individually for a readmission decision.

If you have attended another institution, you must have a copy of your transcript mailed directly to UT so that transfer credit of coursework completed may be awarded.

UT's policy for Academic Second Opportunity might help you achieve your academic goals. Check your eligibility and review the policy here.

Please note that readmission is not guaranteed.
