My favorite thing about being Assistant Dean of Enrollment Services and Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Tennessee...
We have a wonderful staff, and we are working with wonderful students, parents, and college (school) counselors as well as great partners here at UT!! If you have to work (and I do!) it is always a positive experience when the persons with whom you work are, in some way, exceptional.
My favorite UT campus tradition...
Painting the Rock: I’ve even done it a few times myself! As I drive in each morning I turn to look and see what new message has appeared during the night. My favorites are marriage proposals and happy birthday messages, but I have many that I remember with fondness! Remember the snowman? I’ve always wanted to paint a dinosaur there – anybody game?!

Knoxville “Must Do and/or See” Locations
Market Square Mall, downtown, in the summer, on a Saturday, with the flower ladies and men, with fresh homemade butter, squash, and corn, and baked goods, and with the squirting water fountains with children playing in them; or an evening in any season at Market Square, the sound of jazz coming from one of the clubs or restaurants, and people gathering, eating, talking, laughing.
What I do in my "free" time...
Read books, talk about writing books, hiking, dieting (and talking about dieting!), travel, walk, water aerobics
What makes UT such a great place?
It is a magical place, a friendly place, a place where there is a myriad of choice and opportunity so that a student can truly become the person he or she is meant to be and more importantly, wants to be!
