My hometown is...
I was born in Winston-Salem, NC, but I grew up right here in Knoxville.

How long have I been at UT?
Tennessee has always been a part of my family’s history. Many of my relatives have either attended or worked…or both…at Tennessee over the years. I have worked for Undergraduate Admissions for ten years and am proud to continue a family tradition of being involved with the university.

My favorite thing about being an Assistant Director at Tennessee...
There are so many aspects of my position that I enjoy, but the really special moments for me are when I am able to assist a family or student who may feel overwhelmed or lost in the process. I enjoy being able to answer their questions in a way which eases any tension they may have about any part of the process. I also treasure the relationships I have built with students which go beyond just the admissions process and last well beyond their graduation.

My favorite UT campus tradition...
There are so many traditions at UT that are special, but I always get chills at home football games when the Pride of the Southland marching band forms the “Power T” on the field and the team rushes into the stadium.

My favorite UT website...
The University Center Computer Store has a few webcams around campus which are pretty cool to watch. My favorite shows the plaza outside of the University Center because you can almost always see groups of students enjoying their day and walk between classes.

Knoxville “Must Do and/or See” Locations
On campus, the Carousel Theater presents theater in the round and is a wonderful place to catch musicals, comedy, drama and more. The presentations feature both professional and university students.

Off campus, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about 45 minutes from Knoxville and in the park is a place called “Cades Cove”. Cades Cove is magical to me. I grew up visiting the cove on a regular basis with my family. On any given evening around dusk, you will most likely see more deer than you count, wild turkeys, groundhogs, and even the occasional black bear!

What I do in my "free" time...
When I’m not working, I manage to fill my time with multiple activities which range from spending time with family and friends, singing in my church choir and volunteering for the Knox County Sherriff’s office. During the summer, I can be found almost every Sunday afternoon on Norris Lake boating and relaxing with friends and family.

What makes UT such a great place?
The school spirit at UT is unbeatable! Whether you are attending a football game, a Lady Vols basketball game or any other event at UT, you can’t help but be overcome by excitement. The academic opportunities are endless, and the faculty, staff and students are the best in the region.
