Campus Connections
Campus Connections adds an optional academic showcase to the regular campus visit. Throughout the week, UT academic colleges will host prospective students and have either advisor appointments, building tours, or visits that they will coordinate individually. The contact information for each of the colleges that participates, as well as what to expect, is listed below.
Each academic college sets up its own visits, and prospective students should work directly with these colleges to arrange personalized visits.
College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources
Do you want to help the world? In the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR), our alumni play an important role in improving the quality of our lives and the health of the planet. CASNR Ambassadors are available to provide personalized tours of the Ag Campus and information to prospective students and their families. Schedule your session online or by calling 865-974-7303. Please provide a 48 hour notice for all tours.
College of Architecture & Design
Campus visits are conducted on Monday and Friday each week in the College. Architecture visits are scheduled from 11:00am-12:00pm, and Interior Design visits are scheduled from 12:00-1:00pm. Students should plan visits around their UT campus tour. Prospective students and their families will meet with a faculty member who will also provide a tour of the Art & Architecture Building. To schedule a visit please call 865-974-3232 to learn about a major in architecture or interior design.
College of Arts & Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences is the most diverse academic unit at UT, including twenty-three academic departments and schools, as well as seventeen centers and institutes. The College offers a wide variety of majors in the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and fine arts as well as a majority of the general education courses required of every undergraduate student on the Knoxville campus.
If you would like to learn more about the College of Arts & Sciences during your visit, schedule a meeting with a faculty member in your area of interest. The links below will take you to the departmental contact information needed for you to make your arrangements.
Alternatively, if you are unsure about your major, you are considering a career in law or a health profession, or you just have general questions about the College and its curriculum, schedule a meeting with an advisor in Arts & Sciences Advising Services during your campus visit. To arrange a visit, contact Advising Services at 865-974-4481, and indicate that you are a prospective student. To guarantee advisor availability, please make arrangements three weeks in advance of your campus visit.
College of Business Administration
Business is everywhere! From Venture, our freshman living learning community, to the international experience, the College of Business Administration has many tools to equip students for an ever-evolving business world. If you are interested in a business major, we encourage you to come learn about the curriculum, programs, and opportunities we offer students.
Visit us for a tour of the James A. Haslam II Business Building with one of our CBA Student Ambassadors. This state-of-the-art business building provides the College of Business Administration with a world-class teaching and learning facility. To schedule a tour and learn more about the College of Business Administration, please contact (865) 974-2947. Please make arrangements at least three weeks in advance of your campus visit.
College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
The College of Education, Health and Human Sciences is positioned to make a significant difference in peoples’ lives through its programs of study, research, and outreach. Within the departments of the college, you will find a challenging array of majors and minors from which to choose. To complement our commitment to classroom excellence, the college promotes hands-on learning through internships and action-based research. We want our students to graduate with the academic knowledge and practical skills essential to enter today’s competitive workforce as capable and experienced professionals.

College of Engineering
Engineering Ambassadors from the College of Engineering will present information about freshmen and transfer student life, the various engineering majors, the Engineering Fundamentals first year experience, the Engage Learning Community in Morrill Hall, scholarships, honors programs and much more.
This college visit is in addition to the Campus Tour, and should be arranged only after scheduling your campus tour. Contact the College of Engineering to schedule your visit with the college. Please register for your visit at least three weeks ahead of time, to facilitate scheduling.
College of Communication and Information
The CCI Ambassadors assist the College of Communication and Information with student recruitment, alumni relations, community outreach, student retention and college events, and to help the college tell its story to a variety of important constituencies. Prospective students should feel free to contact CCI Ambassadors to request a campus tour, learn more about the college or university as a whole, or simply discuss communication as a potential career. College of Nursing
The UT College of Nursing is a nationally-recognized leader in the education of highly-skilled, visionary nurses. The undergraduate program in nursing combines the unique resources of the UT campus with those of area hospitals, health care agencies, and rural and urban clinics in a manner that enables both faculty and students to participate fully in all facets of the health care delivery system.
Before or after your campus tour, we offer individual appointments for prospective students and their families. Advisors in the College of Nursing are available to provide information about the freshman admissions process and overview the many opportunities available to students in the nursing major. To schedule an appointment, please call our Student Services Office at (865) 974-7606. Please request an appointment at least three weeks in advance.
» Tips for an enjoyable visit:
- Register early — dates fill up quickly. Please bring a copy of your tour confirmation with you to campus.
- Arrive early — be on campus at least 10-15 minutes early to allow for parking and walking time.
- Love your feet — wear comfortable shoes! The tour covers a large part of our campus and we do have some slight to medium hills.
- Dress wisely — be prepared for inclement weather such as rain and snow in the Spring and Winter, and for very warm weather in the Summer.
- Shield yourself — be sure to bring an umbrella and/or sunglasses!
