Pathway Programs

All roads lead to Rocky Top!

There’s more than one way to become a Volunteer. You can attend the University of Tennessee by participating in one of the invitation-only programs listed below. Whether that’s through the Volunteer Bridge program or a semester abroad with Verto Education, all paths lead you home sweet home.

More information on these steps and a complete checklist of the tasks you need to complete before orientation are available in your VIP Portal and your MyUTK account.

Road to Rocky Top

Students offered Road to Rocky Top can choose to either live on campus while taking classes at Pellissippi State Community College (PSCC) or study abroad for a semester through Verto Education. Upon successful completion of either program, students will transfer to UT for a successful start in the Spring 2022 or Fall 2022 semester.

If you have been offered this path, log into your VIP Portal, navigate to the “Just For You” tab, and complete the Road to Rocky Top form. More information about this program can be found at admissions.utk.edu/roadtorockytop.

WHICH PATH IS BEST FOR YOU?

UT LEAD Summer Institute

UT LEAD Summer Institute (UTLSI) is an invitation-only program that helps students start their college experience strong. Each year, UTLSI hand-picks 40 students selected from Flagship high schools across Tennessee to participate in a five-week academic summer program prior to the students’ first year at UT, which is designed to aid their transition to higher education. This program continues for the first two years of college.

Involve Program

The Involve Program is designed to help students transition to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and connect with resources and people on campus.

Involve gives a select group of students the opportunity to take courses during summer second session. After meeting program requirements, these students enroll as fully admitted freshman students in the fall semester.

Involve Summer 2021 will be fully virtual.
