Admitted Students

Congratulations on being admitted to the University of Tennessee! We wish you a Big Orange welcome to the Volunteer family. You’re just a few steps away from making it official!

First, you need to activate your free UT email address, which is the official means of communication between you and the university. Check this account often for important updates about housing, orientation, course registration, and much more.

You must complete the steps below before confirming your enrollment!

  • Log in to your Go Vols Portal (formerly VIP Portal) to get your student ID and NetID. Your NetID is your university username.
  • Once you have your NetID, visit our Information Technology Office to set up your password.
  • With your NetID and password, you can log in to MyUTK and activate your UT email address (Volmail). Visit the Volmail Setup website if you have questions.
