PATHWAY PROGRAMS
We have many opportunities for students to find their path to join our Volunteer family. Choose to study abroad, at another UT System university, or just down the road—the choice is yours!
all roads lead to rocky top
The path to becoming a Volunteer can look different for everyone, but every journey leads to the same place — Rocky Top. UT’s pathway programs offer the chance for students to begin their college journey with unique experiences, new perspectives, and meaningful connections, all while keeping Rocky Top as the destination. With three distinct pathways to choose from, students can find the experience that’s right for them, each offering a clear route to guaranteed transfer admission upon meeting program requirements.
Students can always choose to transfer to Rocky Top at a later date! Each year, UT welcomes more than two thousand transfer students to the Volunteer family. More information can be found at transfer.utk.edu.
Verto Vols
Verto Vols is an invite-only program. Participants study abroad for either one semester or one year before enrolling at UT as a transfer student the following spring or fall semester.
UT Access Collaborative
UT Access Collaborative is an invite-only program. Select applicants can enroll as first-year students at either UT Chattanooga, UT Martin, or UT Southern and transfer to UT Knoxville the following academic year.
Rocky Top Transfer
Rocky Top Transfer is an invite-only program. Select applicants can complete their first year at Pellissippi State Community College by taking classes either in-person or online and transfer to UT Knoxville the following academic year.
While this isn’t how I envisioned going to college and I never saw myself as a transfer student before doing this program, I am so glad I did. It allowed me to meet so many people and truly figure out who I was as a person because I was pushed outside of my comfort zone.
