High School Counselors

As a high school counselor, we appreciate the support you provide and the important role you play in guiding students along the path toward college. We are happy to provide you information that you need as your students navigate the college search process and as they consider UT.

Counselor Portal

Slate creates a stronger relationship between school counselors and admissions offices by keeping everyone on the same page throughout the admissions process. With the Slate portal you will be able to:

  • Monitor students’ application progress;
  • Schedule visits with college representatives; and
  • Conveniently and securely upload documents online to a student’s application.

Another plus of Slate is that it isn’t just a UT platform. You can use the same portal to access any other universities and colleges that use Slate.

To get started, you will need to register for an account. It can take up to 24 hours to authenticate as Slate cross checks CEEB codes and other authenticators to validate an account before approval.

Sending Final High School Transcripts

Once your students are admitted and have confirmed their enrollment at UT, we request final high school transcripts be submitted no later than July 1. We accept final high school transcripts in many ways, listed below:

If you have any questions about submitting final high school transcripts, reach out to us at admissions@utk.edu or call 865-974-1111.

Breakfast with Counselors

Each year, we invite high school counselors to join us and learn the latest about the undergraduate admissions process, enrollment data, core requirements, and any new programs for prospective students. This program is an eight-stop series of half-day conferences across Tennessee that provide counselors with the information they need to effectively advise their college-bound students who are considering applying to a UT System school.

Find out more information about this important event on the UT System’s website.
