What is the Verto Vols program?

This unique international academic and co-curricular experience is designed to ensure a seamless transition from studying abroad to enrolling at UT. Verto Vol participants study abroad for one semester at one of five Verto locations before enrolling at UT as a transfer student the following spring or fall semester. Students must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and earn 15 transferable credit hours (semester program) for a successful transition to UT.

Please note: The Verto Vols semester program has very limited capacity. Once capacity is reached, students will have the opportunity to participate in the Verto Vols year-long program. At this time, we cannot guarantee on-campus housing for returning Verto Vols. Should the Verto vols semester program reach capacity and you are interested in updating your pathway interest selection, please email Meghann Overholt.

Is guaranteed housing provided if you participate in Verto Vols?

At this time, we cannot guarantee on-campus housing for students participating in the Verto Vols Pathway program. Reach out to University Housing at housing@utk.edu for details for on-campus opportunities.

I have a lot of dual enrollment or prior learning credits from high school. How will my dual enrollment and/or prior learning credits impact the availability of Verto courses I can take?

Students who have earned college level credits, either through prior learning or dual enrollment, are encouraged to reach out to registrar@vertoeducation.org  to ensure availability of courses. Additionally, students can review the Verto course guide and UT’s equivalency database for transfer of credit.

Am I eligible for financial aid and scholarships through this program?

Your first step will be to make sure to update your FAFSA application and add the University of New Haven’s school code (001397) to it. Once that has been completed, you will contact the University of New Haven to discuss your financial aid eligibility.
