Readmission Students
If you previously attended UT or graduated as a degree-seeking students however you had a break in enrollment or graduated, you are a readmission application.
Types of Readmission Applicants
Former Student in Good Standing
If you attended UT for at least one semester and left in good academic standing, you will be automatically readmitted once we receive your application.
Former Student on Academic Probation
If you left UT while on academic probation but did not get academically dismissed, you will be automatically readmitted once we receive your application.
Former Student Who Was Academically Dismissed
If you were academically dismissed from UT, please submit an application along with supporting document showing evidence of academic or situation changes that are relevant to your academic performance. Applications are reviewed individually for a readmission decision.

Readmission Application Checklist
Follow these steps to apply for readmission:
- Submit a Go Vols application
- Provide the $30 readmission fee. If you would like to request a waiver, please submit the fee waiver request form.
- If you were academically dismissed from UT, please provide supporting documentation showing evidence of academic or situational changes relative to your academic performance.
- If you attended another institution prior to your application, please send a copy of your transcript to the address below so we may award you transfer credit for your completed coursework:

Application Review
UT uses a holistic review process for all applicants, including an evaluation of coursework, grades and academic rigor. UT’s holistic admissions review also gives students the opportunity to showcase nonacademic talents, including leadership, community engagement, critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. UT’s broad review process aims to evaluate each applicant’s college readiness and preparation to contribute in positive ways to the campus community. All applicants may be asked to provide additional academic information to assess readiness for college level coursework.
UT helps carve a path towards academic success. You could pretty much throw a rock around here and hit a tutoring center. There are all sorts of academic resources that can help you.

Application Status
After you submit your application, check your status by logging into your Go Vols Portal. Check your portal often to review your missing items checklist and upload required documents we need in order to make an admissions decision.
You will receive an email instructing you to check your Go Vols Portal once we’ve made an admissions decision!
