Let’s cut straight to it—Big Orange Preview is a jam-packed event you won’t want to miss! If you’re a high school or transfer student interested in attending University of Tennessee, Knoxville, you should definitely check out Big Orange Preview on Saturday, April 20! If you miss it this spring, you can still catch us in the fall—the good news is that we host them twice a year!
This engaging event gives prospective students and families the opportunity to get a glimpse of life as a Vol on Rocky Top. Ranging from campus and housing tours to information sessions with numerous campus organizations and academic colleges, this special event allows future Vols (like YOU) to find your home sweet home on our welcoming campus. Plus, all student attendees will receive a free t-shirt and a 20% off coupon to the VolShop!

Attendees can design their own schedules, personalizing the day to their needs and interests. Schedules typically include campus and housing tours, special interest sessions with academic colleges, meeting one on one with One Stop and admissions counselors, attending organizational browse sessions, enjoying lunch at one of our many on campus dining locations, and more! We also host a UT admissions presentation at Big Orange Preview to give you and other future Vols the rundown and to answer your questions!
Get Informed and Involved
We host information sessions on financing your education, the family experience at UT, student support and success, multicultural student life, the transfer student experience, and sorority and fraternity life—just to name a few. Most information sessions are offered throughout the day so you can attend as many sessions as your big orange heart desires!
To customize your experience even further, we host both an in-state and out-of-state student panel so that you can hear from current students like you and get your questions answered from a student’s perspective. All of these sessions are geared towards showing you the many ways we’ll support you as a student on Rocky Top!
Your One-Stop Big Orange Preview Shop
We recently created the Big Orange Preview Portal to further improve your experience! This portal is a one-stop shop for all things Big Orange Preview, and is accessible to registrants and their families. Our event portal is where you can find the event program, parking information, a map of campus, places to grab lunch, check the weather in Knoxville, find hotel discounts, and includes a curated list of fun things to do in Knoxville!
