As members of our Volunteer family, we want to help all students get the most amount of financial aid possible—and to do that, students need to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)! We know there have been obstacles that have delayed or prevented several students and families from filing the FAFSA, so to help, we’ve listed a few helpful resources below!
Still haven’t filed your FAFSA for the 2024-2025 academic year yet? File yours today at tiny.utk.edu/fafsa. Before filing, you and your parent/guardian will need to create or locate your individual FSA IDs. You can learn more about the FAFSA on our webpage here.
Filing Your FAFSA
The UT FAFSA Priority Filing Date is Friday, March 15—meaning FAFSAs need to be completed by this date. Students who have already filed their FAFSA are set! UT should start getting FAFSA information from the Department of Education later this spring. Students who’ve filed will receive an email confirming their submission and can check their status from the “My Activity” page after logging in to StudentAid.gov.
Students who haven’t filed yet still have time to do so. It’s important to file your FAFSA to be considered for the most financial aid, including the HOPE scholarship for in-state students.
