Required

  • Complete a Go Vols application
  • Pay the $75 nonrefundable application fee
  • Provide a high school diploma or equivalency. An earned college degree can be used to fulfill this requirement.

Enrollment as a non-degree student does not guarantee admission as a degree-seeking student. Applicants who have been denied admission to UT as a degree-seeking student for any term, or who missed the deadline for submitting a degree-seeking application, will not be considered for enrollment as a non-degree student in that same term.

Students previously enrolled in a degree seeking program at UT need to submit a readmission application.

Availability of Courses

Availability of courses is not guaranteed. The timetable of classes provides a lists of classes with the times for upcoming semesters. Non-degree seeking students may not be able to enroll in courses that require prerequisites unless they provide proof of completion of prerequisite college coursework. Non-degree seeking students who decide to pursue a degree program at UT, are required to submit an undergraduate or graduate admission application.

If you plan to enroll as an undergraduate non-degree seeking student before applying for graduate admission, the courses you complete as an undergraduate non-degree seeking student will not be applicable towards your intended graduate degree. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to receive federal or state financial aid or merit-based or need-based scholarships from UT.

UT has people from all walks of life… There are so many places that you could just naturally meet people. Everyone here is pretty open to making new friends and having lots of connections.
