We are so excited to show you around our home sweet home! Offered five days a week and four times a day, you can pick a date and time that works best for you and your family to visit Rocky Top.
Our campus tours start with a 30-minute information session so you know what to expect when you apply or next steps as an admitted student. Following the information session is a 90-minute walking tour led by our student ambassadors. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for your campus tour–they call us Rocky Top for a reason! You’ll get a great overview of our beautiful campus, academic experiences, and life as a Volunteer–all from a student’s perspective!
We love to highlight a few places where Vols spend most of their time on campus! To name a few, these locations include our recently expanded state-of-the-art Student Union, the rich-with-tradition Torchbearer statue, the Student Health Center, the iconic “The Rock”, our amazing TRECS workout and aquatics facility, Hodges Library (the ultimate study spot), and the beautiful Ayres Hall perched high atop “The Hill.” Last but not least, our campus tour wouldn’t be complete without stopping outside of Neyland Stadium, the sixth largest college football stadium in the country!
If you’re interested in touring our academic colleges while you’re on campus, you can register for both a campus tour and an academic college tour, if available, all at the same time! When registering for a academic tour, head here. From there you’ll be prompted to select which college you’d like to tour and available tours will be listed. In the event that the academic college does not have an available tour on the same day of your campus tour, please reach out to the academic colleges to connect with them at another time!
The party doesn’t have to end when you wrap up your tour! All of our tour guests can grab a free t-shirt at the VolShop on level G2 of the Student Union! Let a VolShop staff member know that you’d like to retrieve your free campus tour t-shirt, and they’ll direct you to a QR code for the campus tour survey. Once you complete the campus tour survey, you can grab your shirt! While you’re there, take some time to browse and use that 10% off coupon code in your tour bag and take some Big Orange swag home!
